You or your church may be the first ones contacted when someone has experienced trauma, disaster or terrorism. Psychological First Aid (PFA) is the accepted approach to help children, adolescents, adults and families deal with the physical, cognitive, emotional, behavioral and spiritual responses to critical incidents. Your role is critical and you can help people cope, adapt and recover, preventing long term consequences from the event.

Our presenter, GARY YEAST, LMFT is well known in the Wausau Community. He has over 40 years of clinical practice and teaching experience. For the past 27 years Gary has been involved in the development of the science of traumatology specializing in trauma, disaster and terrorism mental health services. He has extensive experience working with pastors and churches. He has a private practice, works for Ministry Health Care, Critical Incident Stress Services, Crisis Care Network and the American Red Cross (Disaster Services). Gary and his wife, Barbara, have been married for 46 years. They live in Wausau and she is also a trauma specialist.
